It’s been a long two weeks since our last game with the team. In between Tyler and I were invited to participate in the league exhibition game. Four other players from the team participated, and I got to coach against the team Tyler played on. Everyone played well and Tyler even walked away with a very nice award. Yes I did do everything I could to shut him down, but he wasn’t about to make it easy for me. It was a lot of fun, and it was excellent hockey all around. It was just what we needed after the last tournament. We’ve gone back to working on some very basic game concepts for our last and final set of games for the season. Tomorrow we enter a tournament in western New York. We plan on keeping things simple and concentrate on controlling the puck, getting it deep in the offensive end and keeping it out of our defensive zone. We’ve got defenseman who can shoot from the point and set up rebounds, and we have forwards who will be looking for opportunities around the net. As long as we work as a team and keep our eyes open we should do pretty well. It’s going to take some effort, but that’s how we’ve played the game all season, and that’s what we need to go back to. I plan on ending this season with some real good hockey. That’s the plan, what’s yours?
