Well the third game became our final game of the tournament. We lost our third game in a row. I thought the officiating was pretty good, and I thought our opponent played a decent game. We struggled and just couldn’t get anything going for very long. Some of the players really played their guts out, but it wasn’t enough. This weekend really put our two goalies through their paces, and they both played exceptionally well. We needed more speed, passing, and positioning. We had some great moments during each of the games. It just wasn’t enough. I know we can learn a lot from this weekend and hopefully improve enough to fair better against some of these teams. Ty and I left for home and ran into the snow on the two-hour drive back home. I told him I was pretty proud of him because I am. This is a good team, and they do work hard on the ice. The whole idea was to play well and have some fun. Some of the play was done well, and some needs work. Hopefully there was a little fun mixed in, but I think I’ll ponder that for a few days. The snow began to slow the driving down so we decided that we would stop at McDonalds and have a Shamrock shake. They only come out this time of year. That’s good because there’s something about a green shake that seems to make everything seem all right.
