Don't Fight It

We made an effort to take some kind of normal vacation this year, this soon became a few days to spend time together down here on the lake and maybe visit a few local attractions. My timing was impeccable, this is probably the rainiest week of the year. My intended week off became a few days to make a long weekend, and when I came home last night I was informed that Nick was starting a new job Friday night. Well, we decided to try to sneak in a few hours at the nearest water theme park. We got a few rainless hours in and I think the boys had fun. We finished the day off with a trip out to our local ice cream stand after another heavy thunderstorm moved through the area. Just having all the boys home at the same time is something I appreciate. I asked my youngest son what he wanted to do this weekend. He said he wanted to go to the rink. I said: “But we're on vacation!” Tyler replied: “I know, that's what I want to do.” Wow, I thought. I think I really messed these boys up. They're getting as goofy as me! Oh well, I'm not fighting it.
