Speed

Quickness, agility and speed are huge in both Lacrosse and Hockey. Predictability can counteract speed. Know this and develope unpredictability in your movement. Change in direction and speed can leave an opponent in the dust and open up key areas of a teams defenses. Speed is more effective when there is thought and skill in your movement. A straight line between two points may be the shortest route, but it may not be the most productive. Straight lines and constant direction are easily countered with properly positioned defensive play. Power and confidence compliment speed and hockey sense - or lacrosse sense. Effort and persistence make hockey and lacrosse players unique individuals who you can count on. Whistles are a dime a dozen, but talent is only as good as what you do with it.
