Shots

How's your shot? Hopefully you've had a chance to really work on it, really see how accurate and fast you can get. Right hand, back hand, over/around the shoulder/back, left, low, side arm, overhand and underhand for lacrosse. Snap, slap, wrist, forehand and backhand for hockey. Don't like side arm or backhand shots? Sometimes they're useful, sometimes they're not.
Some coaches say "don't use em", some say "if you can get it in the net, then go for it". Practice them all if you can. Maybe you've had a chance to play some wall ball and work on your catching, or maybe you've been bouncing a tennis ball around with your hockey stick. When I didn't have a net, I used a a wooden crate with tin cans, at least I think they were tin. They could have been aluminum I guess. Find a partner to play catch with, or pass the puck back and forth with - even a family member will do in a pinch. Try not to kill each other while your doing it. Remember you can still get hit with a ball or puck just playing catch. Have fun and keep cool, it's a great way to get outdoors and get some fresh air. What do you mean you'd rather watch TV and play video games? Do you want to get better and go forward with your skills, or not? Oh yeah, right, your on vacation. I see now. Just remember you may be on vacation from school, but not life. I can see taking some time off to rest, but don't ever say your bored, there's lots to do if you look around. Remember, there's always work.
OK, now you're moving. I'll see you out there, and don't break anymore windows.
