12 seconds left in the game - your team has the ball in your own defensive zone after a whistle - the game is tied.
What do you have your player with the ball do? Hang onto the ball playing keep away while the clock ticks down and maintain the tie? Look for the open man up field and make a pass to go for a quick long shot to win the game - which could wind up as an interception that places your own goal in danger? What do you do? If it's a championship game you may push for overtime to allow your team to rest and regroup. If it's a tournemant without overtime, but a quarter or period based point system you may need the extra point, or need to deny your opponent half or a whole point. What if it's just a regular season game without any overtime allowed? What would you do? would you play it safe and not take any chances, or go for the extra point risking your own possible defeat if the pass goes wrong? Think about this while your working on your passing at your next practice. Do you have confidence in your players to make the play? Are you thinking about how much you hate to lose, or are you thinking about letting your players give it a shot? I don't know what you would do, but I know what I do. Can't be afraid all your life now can ya?
