A bright sunshiny morning – perfect for picking up your lacrosse stick and ball and looking for a good stonewall. A solid brick one will do, but remember to only play wall ball where it’s an acceptable activity. We had a neighborhood school right down the street – the same one with the skating rink out back. Leather hi-top Cons never felt so lite on the first warm day of spring. My dad would remind me not to smash any windows, and I would look over his shoulder to all the boarded up garage windows at the end of our driveway – “Don’t worry I only do that here with hockey pucks” Fortunately there were no windows on the gym wall where I went to play wall ball. The worst thing would be a real bad bounce back that I would have to run after if I didn’t catch it. Now you can buy a ‘Lax-Wall” to practice with, but it’s no where as good as a real solid wall – but they sure are convenient for your back yard. I tried building a wooden wall back home up north, but it was a bit loud. Sunny spring days are few and far between where I grew up, and there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot more in this neck of the woods, but it does seem to be a little warmer. Anyways, when it’s nice outside – try to make the most of it. If you haven’t got a lacrosse stick, or you just need a break, then pick up a basketball and shoot some hoop. It’s all good and it all works together in the end. Step out into the bright warm sunshine and be thankful that you can.
