The storm swept through the region this morning with rain and lightening – followed by strong wind gusts that took down limbs and a few trees causing scattered power outages. It would rain a little then stop for a while. It was sort of hit and miss throughout the area as to who would get the bad weather, and who would not. It’s good old October windy weather. It’s wonderful. The wind was still kicking up pretty good and stirring up the lake as I drove home this evening. Leaves were swirling like tiny tornados and blowing down the darkened road. You have to get close to the lake to catch a glimpse of the waves, but you can hear them along with the wind rushing through the trees. Some of the neighbors have their Halloween decorations out. That adds to the atmosphere a little. It’s a nice cold wind that blows across the land tonight. The snow can’t be too far behind. There’s no hockey practice tonight, so I can catch up on a little work. I guess everyone in the house is doing some type of homework tonight. It’s quieter than usual – except for the wind and rain. The storm does seem to be quieting down a little. That’s too bad, I thought it was quiet relaxing actually. There are still a few good gusts every so often, so I guess the cold front still has a lot of energy left. It’s a good night to catch up on some reading and relax a little. Tomorrow we go back on the ice. There’s a lot to do before our first game, but right now it’s time to do a little homework
