For whom the bell tolls

In the darkest hour when all seems hopeless and lost there are some that will hang their head in defeat. Then there are some who will not. A test of strength is not only judged by the victories, but also in how one deals with loss. This does not always go hand in hand with defeat. You cannot defeat a team who will not give up, you can beat them, but you do not defeat them unless they hang their heads. Tonight the Cannoneers faced a formidable foe that has already left a trail of wreckage in their wake. The Cannoneers left the field tonight with a loss, but they were already talking about preparing for the next game. They got knocked down harder than I have ever seen a team get hammered, but they didn’t hang their heads. They walked of the field and headed back north to get ready for their next opponent. This team from JCC had just come off a win heading in to tonight’s game. They know how to win. That is something that they have already proven this season. Now we will all have to see if they can come back even stronger. This team has had to work very hard this season, and there is still a lot of lacrosse to be played before it is over. It isn’t over yet. “Time marches on”
