Easter 08

It’s been a pretty good weekend here in the land of never ending winter. Who would have thought that Easter weekend temperatures would be in the 20’s? Saturday morning we went to watch Nick play against the IHC varsity lacrosse team. Of the three most recent scrimmages CNS has had this was the most fun to watch in my opinion. CNS did very well as a team, and controlled the ball well allowing them to take a lot of successful shots. It was still pretty cold, but the sun was out. We headed north today to have Easter brunch with Devin before he leaves with the Cannoneers for Delaware. We had reservations at the Carriage House, but we had to cut things short because of a problem back at the control center. Duty calls and we headed home. I spent the rest of the afternoon working in the server room. For some reason I seem to spend a lot of Easter Sunday’s getting called out. Tomorrow Nick has another scrimmage, and Devin will be playing Delaware Tech, then on Wednesday the team plays against Montgomery down in Maryland. Lacrosse, Lacrosse, and more Lacrosse, that’s what we do when hockey season takes a break. I’d say end, but it doesn’t usually work that way. I’ll enjoy the spring sport season by running from game to game. Actually this really is a break for me, I get to be a dad and a fan for a while. It’s not bad, but it’s also a little strange feeling. I get used to it after a while. The boys do well, and that’s very nice to see. The only issue now is figuring out how to get to some of these games. All in all this has been a pretty good Easter. One thing I really am looking forward to is seeing some of our hockey players playing lacrosse. It’s never too late to pick up a stick. I believe that it does add a lot to your hockey game. No hockey player who plays lacrosse should be surprised to see their hockey coach on the sidelines watching to see how they’re doing.
