Back on the ice, the players fell right back in step with where we were earlier this summer. A good group of players ranging from peewees to midget level. From our junior assistant coach, to our latest recruited coach, It looks like we have a pretty good set up to have some fun and also do some serious work. I was very impressed with a young goalie from the Webster hockey program. If you see a quick fearless goalie named Nick in the Rochester area this season who counts Ryan Miller as his favorite net tender, then that's probably him. I saw some pretty impressive saves today during the shooting drills. It will be interesting to see how this young goalie progresses over the next few years. He looked like a mini Roy staring down the big boys through his mask. I was told this practice was tough. It was just a warm up for what we will be doing. Over speed and under handling will be the focus. Skate outside your comfort zone, and work the puck well without overdoing the stick handling with unnecessary movements. They're all pretty good players now, but the goal is to turn it up a notch. It's hockey pre-season once again, and all is as it should be. The regular season will be here before you know it. There's a lot to get done between now and then. Does this mean hang up the lacrosse stick? ....Nope!
