First game ends in tie

Our first game of the season went rather well. We came from behind to tie the game up late in the third period. I was very pleased with the tempo of the game, and the effort everyone put in. We have a few things to work on such as breaking out and shooting accuracy, but we out-shot the other team something like 30 to 12. Both of our goalies played solid, as did the other team’s. We will work more on cycling the puck over the next few weeks, and our checking needs a bit of work, but we did out check our opponent with clean hits. We also avoided getting any penalties and we defiantly proved that we could skate fast through the whole game. This was really a pretty good game. Some simple errors allowed the other team to score, but for a first game of the season we did well. I’m not sure I like the way I set up all the lines, but this will be looked at to see if we can come up with some better combinations. I probably won’t change too much, but I do see a few things that could use adjusting during our next practice. All in all it was a good game, and that’s all I asked for. Nice job!
