Well, the Orange have done it again. We got to see some great lacrosse over these past few weeks. Watching the games with the family has been very nice. Dev was only able to come down for the first play-off weekend. Playing catch in the backyard, and going to watch the boys’ school games has been priceless as usual. This is what we do, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I know this is a privilege and I don’t want to miss a thing. Sometimes work or scheduling problems keeps me away from getting to all my boys’ games, so each one I make is pretty special. I’ve been thinking about how the high cost of fuel will affect both lacrosse and hockey this coming season. It will make things very difficult and expensive for a lot of families. Last season was expensive for a lot of people, but this last spike will really impact travel to games and practice. It impacts everyone and everything here in the states. I think I will see some changes. I miss the days of walking down to the local pond or outdoor rink. Time marches on and the world changes. You have to enjoy and appreciate what you have now. It may not last as long as you would like. Right now for me it’s time with the family. The boys are growing up fast, not fast enough for them, but way too fast for me. I ended up having to go into work each day of the long weekend, it wasn’t my idea of a holiday, but I was still able to catch the second half of the Syracuse game. I got in a few hours of playing catch with Tyler, and I went for a donut run with Nic driving the truck. Dev text messaged me, and my wife made me coffee to take on the drive into work each day. That’s not too bad after all. I even got enough time to write in the blog. I’ve been a bit busy, as you may have guessed. My wife and I have decided that we will have to make some adjustments in our usual travels each week. Down here everything is about 30 minutes away no matter what it is you want to do. We’ll adjust, as everyone else will. I may even have to cut back on my Orange soda intake………Nah!
