Technology marches on and on and on

I try to do as much work as possible on my pda. I use a ipaq with a stowaway keyboard, but lately I have been looking for a better alternative. The screen is a little small as is the keypad. The smartphones have even smaller screens and I would prefer to have a separate phone to use while continuing to work on the PDA. I like the convenience of having wifi and mobile office. I use Excel a lot along with word. I started using the palm3 when it first came out to organize my hockey notes. I even had a GPS device hooked up to it, but I still had trouble finding some of the rinks in Ontario. That we can talk about another day. I still resort to a small notebook to work things out just before a game. It's still faster and I can smash it against my head without too much damage. Times are changing and everything is shrinking at the same time as I need everything to be larger so I can see it. I tried using an old treo 90, but after a paragraph I got a fatal error and the unit reset itself. I had forgotten what I wrote and went looking for my ipaq- which now is starting to act squirly on it's own. It doesn't like the cold, and the screen is hard to read in the sunlight. I would think a PDA should outlast a pair of skates, but I would be wrong. I also have a bluetooth earpiece to use while I'm in the car and driving, but I see a lot of knuckheads wear them everywhere they go. I think it looks stupid, I never know if they're talking to someone or just talking to themselves. I wonder what Don Cherry thinks about that. I've watched my phone sail across the ice at practice, and accidentally called people while on the bench. All they hear is the game and me yelling "hurry boys!" . Now they realize I've hit the redial accidentally. All in all technology has made life simpler for me, but I still haven't found the perfect pda. I was in hockey shop the other day when my youngest was looking at sticks. "You got enough sticks, what do you need another one for?" I asked. He said he needed a better one. I told him to make use of what he had. Then I went back to thinking about a new pda. I need a better one. For now I'll make use of what I have. At least until I break this one. Isn't that when you're supposed to replace a stick?
