A hundred years ago this month in 1907 a team from the small town of Kenora Ontario (also Known as Rat Portage) defeated the Montreal Wanderes for the Stanley Cup. The Kenora Thistles took the cup aided by the strong performance of Art Ross. In a March rematch the Montreal Wanderers won the cup back. For over two years and eight challenges the Wanderers dominated the Stanley Cup series. Their only loss during that run was to Kenora. Art Ross went on to play defense for Montreal.
